Pink Eye Symptoms according to the condition type
BACTERIAL CONJUNCTIVITIS: it is mainly caused by Staphylococcus aureus (bacteria usually found in the skin, hands, face, etc.). This type of conjunctivitis can cause keratitis and cause pain in the eye with photophobia.
PURULENT CONJUNCTIVITIS: it is caused by Neisseria gonorrhoeae (coconut Gram negative). It occurs in infants who become infected when passing through the mother's vaginal tract, those with venereal diseases like gonorrhea, can also transmit the infection. It is characterized by high production of purulent discharge, chemosis (conjunctival edema) and eyelid edema. This may be complicated by conjunctivitis keratitis and endophthalmitis.
INCLUSION CONJUNCTIVITIS: it is another variety of conjunctivitis caused by Chlamydia trachomatis. Also occurs in newborns for infection of the mother. Lymph nodes near the ear can become inflamed and rarely damages the cornea.
VERNAL CONJUNCTIVITIS OR VERNAL KERATOCONJUNCTIVITIS (allergic): it is a chronic conjunctival inflammation, usually occurs in both eyes and its origin is allergic. As usual, it occurs in children even before adolescence. The eyes are bloodshot and watery and sticky discharge with photophobia.
VIRAL CONJUNCTIVITIS: it is produced by:
- Herpes simplex.
- Herpes zoster.
- Picornavirus 70.
- Adenovirus and enterovirus.

Acute infection of the pilosebaceous glands of Zeiss, Moll sweat glands and sebaceous meibomian are of bacterial (staph).
